A health coach is a supportive mentor who helps their clients reach their wellness goals and feel their best. Through personalized encouragement & exploration a health coach supports clients in finding food & lifestyle practices that work best for them. A health coach also looks at every area of health including physical activity and nutrition to relationships, career, spirituality and even joy.
A holistic health coach acts more as a supportive mentor than an authoritative figure. A nutritionist will prescribe diets and typically do not look at mental, emotional, or spiritual health. A therapist will allow a person to process their feelings, emotions and traumas and provide conseling and treatment. However, therapy is not goal oriented and many times doesn't offer an end point. A health coach will never prescibe diets but will offer nutritional information and allow the client to find their own individual needs. A health coaching program is goal oriented and does have an end point.
